This special issue calls for original papers with important and novel contributions related to – “Application of Multiple-Criteria Decision Making approaches in providing medical and pharmaceutical services in a disaster”

Topics of interests include

• Novel MCDM techniques in the field of healthcare and humanitarian supply chain,
• Application of MCDM techniques in disaster,
• Uncertain MCDM techniques,
• Sustainability issues in healthcare and humanitarian supply chain,
• Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding (MCDA) algorithms,
• Integrating optimization methods with MCDM techniques.

Reviews which include the comparative view, Original research papers as well as short communications and letters on new developments and applications are welcome and are to be written in Standard English. Formatting of the manuscript with headings and Subheadings is necessary and views are to be presented clearly. New approaches are mainly in interest.

To cover the costs of publication, an Article Processing Charge is essential and the charge levied for each article of any type upon acceptance is $540 USD.

The importance and need for this special issue:

Welcomes submissions to the thematic concept on 'Application of Multiple-Criteria Decision Making approaches in providing medical and pharmaceutical services in a disaster'.

Multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) or multiple-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) is known as a sub-discipline of operations research that can explicitly investigate multiple conflicting criteria in decision-making processes (both in daily life and in settings such as business, government and medicine). Due to the high necessity of medical and pharmaceutical services during a disaster occurrence, MCDM techniques can be employed as efficient tools to help managers in different ways. One of these ways is related to providing required items such as blood, drugs.

Moreover, there are many criteria that can affect the process of services including cost, vitality, time, etc. The managers should also provide a priority to have the most effective suppliers in disaster. These suppliers may include Hospitals, Red Crescents, Fire Stations and other related organizations.

Some of these well-known techniques are Analytic hierarchy process (AHP), Analytic network process (ANP), Best Worst Method (BWM), Technique for the Order of Prioritisation by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Goal programming (GP).

In this special issue, we plan to investigate the applicability of MCDM approaches to generate high-quality solutions for managers.

Submission Instructions: All submissions will undergo peer review and accepted articles will be published in the Journal of Medical Informatics and Decision Making (ISSN: 2641-5526).
