Article Processing Charges
APCs support peer review, editorial handling, production, DOI assignment, and open access availability for chemistry research.
Article Processing Charge: $2100 USD per accepted manuscript.
When charged: After acceptance. There is no submission fee.
The APC is a single charge per accepted article.
Open access publishing removes subscription barriers and ensures that chemistry research reaches researchers, educators, and industry professionals worldwide. The APC supports the full publication lifecycle so that accepted articles are reviewed, produced, and preserved with long term accessibility.
Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific quality and relevance. APCs are applied only after acceptance and do not influence peer review outcomes.
Scope screening, reviewer coordination, and editorial decisions for chemistry manuscripts.
Copyediting, formatting, and preparation of online versions.
DOI assignment, metadata preparation, hosting, and long term archiving.
- Quality control for figures, spectra, and supplementary materials
- Online hosting and accessibility under a Creative Commons license
- Support for data availability statements and transparency requirements
- Long term preservation to ensure continued access to published work
The APC also supports metadata preparation, cross linking of references, and platform maintenance so that articles remain discoverable over time.
Journal of Journal of New Developments in Chemistry follows COPE and ICMJE guidance. APC revenue supports plagiarism screening, ethics checks, and the administrative work required to document approvals, consent statements, and conflicts of interest. These steps protect research integrity and ensure that published findings meet scientific standards.
Where appropriate, the journal supports authors in meeting reporting checklist requirements and data availability expectations. Clear documentation improves reproducibility and helps readers interpret chemical evidence.
The APC applies to all accepted article types published in Journal of Journal of New Developments in Chemistry, including original research, reviews, letters, editorials, case reports, case images, clinical trials, rapid communications, commentaries, thesis based manuscripts, and short communications.
After submission, manuscripts undergo an initial check for scope, ethical compliance, and completeness. Papers that pass screening proceed to single blind peer review by subject experts. Editors evaluate reviewer feedback and may request revisions to improve clarity, reporting, or interpretation.
Once accepted, manuscripts move to copyediting and production. Authors review proofs for accuracy before publication. Final articles receive a DOI and are published open access.
Chemistry research informs materials design, industrial processes, and environmental solutions. Open access ensures that evidence reaches both academic and applied audiences, including interdisciplinary collaborators.
This model supports faster knowledge transfer and encourages reproducibility by making methods, data, and results accessible to a wide audience.
Articles are published under a Creative Commons license. Authors retain copyright while granting permission for others to read, share, and reuse the work with proper attribution. This licensing model supports responsible reuse in education, industry, and policy.
Journal of Journal of New Developments in Chemistry publishes research that advances chemical understanding and applications. Submissions should be methodologically sound and supported by clear experimental or theoretical evidence. Studies that report new synthetic routes, catalytic methods, analytical techniques, or materials properties are especially welcome.
We recognize that funding availability varies by author and institution. Limited APC reductions may be considered on a case by case basis for authors with documented need.
Editors and reviewers may request waivers of up to 30% on APCs. Waivers cannot be combined.
Partial waivers may be considered for authors from low income and lower middle income countries.
Students who lack funding may request a special APC of $540 USD. A valid student ID is required.
If you need APC support, include a brief request in the Cover Letter field during submission. Waiver requests are considered separately from editorial decisions.
Membership programs are available for individuals, students, institutions, and corporate partners. Membership provides APC discounts and predictable coverage for eligible submissions. See the Membership page for details.
Many institutions and funders support open access publishing. If you require documentation for a grant or institutional report, the editorial office can provide confirmation of APC amounts after acceptance. Early communication helps coordinate coverage when multiple submissions are planned.
Institutional memberships may also streamline APC approvals for research teams.
If a manuscript is withdrawn after 3 days from submission, a withdrawal charge equal to 30% of the APC applies. Authors must request an official withdrawal before submitting the manuscript elsewhere.
Withdrawal requests should be sent to the editorial office. Submitting without withdrawal may be treated as ethical misconduct.
APCs are charged only for accepted manuscripts. Rejected manuscripts do not incur a publication charge.
Is there a submission fee? No. APCs apply only after acceptance.
Are APCs negotiable? Waiver requests are considered on a case by case basis and reviewed separately from editorial decisions.
Can a funder or institution cover the APC? Yes. Authors may arrange coverage with their institutions or sponsors after acceptance.
APCs do not influence editorial decisions. Editors and reviewers assess manuscripts for scientific quality, ethics, and relevance. Financial considerations are handled independently of peer review.
