Peer Review Process

1. Initial Technical Screening

Editorial office evaluates scope fit, technical merit, and formatting compliance. Manuscripts outside biomedical science/engineering focus are desk-rejected with redirection guidance.

2. Expert Peer Review

Manuscripts are assigned to specialists in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g., biomechanics, materials science, medical device development). Reviewers assess methodology, reproducibility, innovation, and technical rigor.

3. Editorial Decision

Associate editors synthesize reviewer feedback and make recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief. Authors receive constructive comments regardless of outcome.

4. Revision & Resubmission

Authors address technical concerns, improve experimental design descriptions, or provide additional validation data. Revised manuscripts undergo expedited re-review.

5. Final Acceptance & Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, author proof approval, and online publication with DOI assignment and indexing.

Submission Channels:

1. Online Form: Submit via the manuscript submission portal

2. Email Submission: Send manuscripts to [email protected]

3. Manuscript Zone: Create an account at Manuscript Zone for streamlined tracking
