Overview
Infant sleep–wake behaviour is a pattern of sleeping and waking that all infants experience as they develop. It is essential for proper growth and development, as well as cognitive and emotional wellbeing. Understanding infant sleep–wake behaviour can help parents and caregivers to understand and respond appropriately to their infant’s needs, which can help promote better sleep, reduce stress and promote healthy habits. Parents can also use strategies to help their babies develop healthy sleep–wake behaviours as they grow.
