Overview
Parasitic protozoa are single-celled organisms which form an important part of human and animal diseases, including malaria, sleeping sickness, and amoebic illnesses. They can cause a wide range of symptoms, from simple diarrhea to severe organ damage. By understanding the biology of these parasites, we can develop better strategies for diagnosing and treating the diseases they cause. Through careful research, new drugs and treatments can be developed to control the spread of parasitic diseases. Additionally, studying the ecology and behavior of parasitic protozoa can provide insight into controlling their populations in the environment.
