Overview
Nephrology is a branch of medicine that focuses on the kidneys and its diseases. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a disease that affects the normal functioning of the kidneys and can cause progressive damage over time. CKD is a serious condition that can have a wide range of health risks and can lead to other health complications that can be life-threatening. Early detection and proper management of CKD can help prevent or reduce the risk of these complications. Treatment options for CKD can range from lifestyle changes to medications and even dialysis or kidney transplantation in more severe cases. Early diagnosis through regular checkups and treatment can help manage and improve the patient's quality of life.
