Information systems are organised combinations of software, hardware, data, people, and procedures that collect, store, process, and present information to support operations and decision-making. In healthcare and medical informatics, information systems underpin the management of patient records, the monitoring of services, the analysis of health data, and the coordination of care, making them central to evidence-based decision-making and the efficient running of health systems.
