The Role of Cerebral Hypercarbia in the Induction of the Near-Death Experience

The review proposes that a hypercarbic brain is a precursor of the near-death experience and weighs that account against the other naturalistic explanations in circulation. It is a hypothesis argued in a review, and the author states that the step from a physical event to a mental one remains unaccounted for.
