Overview
The Mediterranean Sea is one of the world's most important bodies of water, located between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It is the largest inland sea in the world and is characterized by a warm, temperate climate, high salinity, and large diversity of species. Its significance lies in its economic, recreational, and cultural activities such as fishing, tourism, and shipping, as well as its important role in the global climate and oceanic circulation. It is also home to valuable resources such as petroleum, natural gas, and mineral deposits, and provides a habitat for numerous habitats, coral reefs, and rare species. The Mediterranean Sea supports 75 percent of the world's fish stocks, and its waters are important to many recreational activities and industries.
