Biography
Dr. Carmine Tomasetti is a physician surgeon, specialist in psychiatry, psychotherapist, and holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Naples "Federico II," where he completed his doctoral work in 2014 at the Molecular and Translational Psychiatry Laboratory. He is currently affiliated with Hospital G. Mazzini, having previously served as Medical Director Psychiatrist at AUSL 4 Teramo and as Adjunct Professor in Psychiatry at the Department of Neuroscience, University "Federico II" of Naples. His research focuses on psychoneurobiology and neuropsychopharmacology of psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, with his most-cited work, "Gut Microbiota and Bipolar Disorder: An Overview on a Novel Biomarker for Diagnosis and Treatment" (2021), receiving 71 citations. Dr. Tomasetti has authored numerous publications in national and international journals and collaborates extensively with researchers both in Italy and abroad.
