Overview
Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) is a process used by translators and other language professionals to aid in the translation of text, allowing for increased accuracy, faster turn-around times and cost savings. The process makes use of computer software to store previously translated text, generate consistent terminology and apply translation rules consistently. This enables the translator to produce a more accurate, consistent and efficient translation. CAT therefore provides a useful tool for businesses and organizations to accurately and quickly translate documents, websites and other communications into multiple languages for a global audience.
