Public and Occupational Health

Overview

Public and occupational health is an area of public health research and practice that focuses on protecting and promoting the health of both the general public and workers in the workplace. It looks at how to reduce or eliminate the health risks where people live, work, and play. Public and occupational health interventions can include the use of public health policies to protect people in the workplace, such as the implementation of safety guidelines, education and training programs, and awareness campaigns. These strategies can help to reduce the risk of injury, illness, and death in the workplace. Additionally, public and occupational health interventions can improve the quality of life in the workplace, helping to reduce work-related stress, mental health issues, and other issues. Ultimately, public and occupational health interventions help to promote a healthier and safer environment for workers, the public, and the environment.
