Overview

Diagnosis and treatment together constitute the core clinical process by which disease is identified and managed, linking the recognition of a condition to the selection and delivery of appropriate therapy. Diagnosis involves gathering clinical, laboratory, imaging, and molecular evidence to determine the nature and cause of a patient's condition, while treatment applies that understanding through medical, surgical, or supportive interventions tailored to the individual. Research in this area examines diagnostic and therapeutic approaches across a range of conditions, including laboratory testing and treatment of immune thrombocytopenia, the recognition of inherited bleeding disorders through analysis of coagulation-factor genetics, and molecular diagnostics in cancer and metabolic disease. Studies also address the consequences of delayed or missed diagnosis, prognostic assessment in malignancy, and the management of conditions ranging from autoimmune disorders and lymphomas to age-related and infectious diseases, alongside the role of proteomic and bioinformatic methods in disease diagnosis and treatment. The significance of diagnosis and treatment lies in their inseparable relationship: accurate diagnosis is the foundation for effective therapy, and treatment outcomes depend on correctly characterizing the underlying disease. Advances in laboratory, molecular, and imaging techniques continue to refine diagnostic precision and enable more targeted treatment. Understanding how conditions are identified and managed is central to clinical medicine, supporting timely intervention, individualized care, and improved outcomes across the breadth of human disease.
