Overview
The cerebellar nuclei are a group of structures located in the brainstem, deep to the cerebellum. They are involved in regulating body posture, coordination of movement, balance, and voluntary motor control. By receiving information from sensory systems and the cerebellum, the cerebellar nuclei make sure our body's movements are precise, timely, and balanced. This is essential for our daily activities, such as writing, talking, or walking. Additionally, recent research has suggested that these nuclei may play a role in some types of learning and memory.
