Clinical pharmacists are healthcare professionals who are specially trained to optimize patient care by understanding and interpreting the scientific, medical and therapeutic aspects of pharmaceuticals and their interactions. They work with other healthcare professionals to ensure that the right medications are used in the right way at the right time. Clinical pharmacists not only help to reduce adverse drug events, they also can help to reduce overall healthcare costs. They are an essential component of any healthcare team, providing crucial advice and guidance on the optimal use of medications.
