Overview

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is a heterogeneous group of cancers that arise from lymphocytes in the lymphatic system, part of the body's immune system, and is one of the most common haematological malignancies. NHL can occur at any age but is more frequent in older adults, and it comprises numerous subtypes that vary from indolent to aggressive in their clinical course. The disease develops when lymphocytes proliferate abnormally, and it may present with swollen lymph nodes, night sweats, fever, fatigue, and weight loss, sometimes arising in extranodal locations. Diagnosis and classification depend on biopsy, cytology, immunophenotyping, and histopathology, supported by prognostic markers such as lactate dehydrogenase. Because treatment of NHL frequently centres on systemic therapy, the choice and outcome of chemotherapy regimens, tailored to subtype and stage, are of particular clinical importance, alongside targeted and immunomodulatory approaches. The journal publishes peer-reviewed research relevant to chemotherapy and oncology practice reflecting these themes, including studies on rare lymphoma presentations such as Lennert lymphoma and lymphoma of the external auditory canal, fine-needle aspiration cytology of lymphoid lesions, subtypes and treatment outcomes of NHL in resource-poor settings, the correlation of lactate dehydrogenase with disease growth in children with lymphoma, and the targeting and behaviour of hematopoietic and lymphoid cells.
