Overview

Interpersonal relationships refer to the connections, interactions, and bonds that individuals form with others, encompassing family ties, friendships, romantic partnerships, professional associations, and therapeutic alliances. Research published in this journal examines how interpersonal dynamics intersect with mental health, development, and well-being across diverse populations and contexts. Studies have explored how children and youth with ADHD build resilience through protective factors in their social environments, and how gender disparities affect diagnosis and interpersonal functioning in females with ADHD. The journal has published work on psychosocial interventions that address relationship patterns in bipolar disorder, the role of therapeutic relationships in treating dissociative amnesia, and combined therapeutic approaches for cancer patients experiencing both depression and pain. Additional research has investigated emotional intelligence among medical students, teacher efficacy and its relational components in educational settings, and community perceptions of adolescent sexuality education. This body of work demonstrates that interpersonal relationships fundamentally shape psychological outcomes, influence the course of mental and physical health conditions, and serve as both targets and vehicles for therapeutic intervention across clinical, educational, and community settings.
