Overview
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive cancer of the lymphatic system arising from mature B lymphocytes, and it is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It typically presents as rapidly enlarging lymph nodes or masses and can involve extranodal sites, including the central nervous system. Standard first-line treatment is combination immunochemotherapy, most commonly the R-CHOP regimen, which pairs the anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody rituximab with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone. Outcomes vary with disease subtype, stage, and patient factors, and access to diagnostic and therapeutic resources strongly influences prognosis. This page gathers peer-reviewed, open-access research relevant to aggressive B-cell lymphomas. Listed work includes a study of the subtypes and treatment outcomes of adolescent and adult non-Hodgkin lymphomas in a resource-poor setting, which situates DLBCL within the broader landscape of non-Hodgkin disease and treatment access. A second report documents the diagnosis of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in a patient with concomitant lymphoma infiltration of the central nervous system during R-CHOP chemotherapy, illustrating both the use of the standard DLBCL regimen and the neurological complications that can complicate aggressive lymphoma management. Together these contributions reflect clinical and diagnostic dimensions of caring for patients with aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
