Overview
B-cell lymphoma is a group of cancers that arise from B lymphocytes, the white blood cells responsible for producing antibodies as part of the immune system. It is a major category of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and includes many subtypes that differ in how they appear under the microscope, how aggressively they behave, and how they are treated. Diagnosis relies on tissue examination, immunophenotyping, and laboratory markers, while management ranges from observation to chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other targeted approaches depending on subtype and stage. Research in the journal addresses the diagnosis, classification, and outcomes of lymphoid malignancies: studies include a case of Lennert (lymphoepithelioid) lymphoma with extensive necrosis, an analysis of subtypes and treatment outcomes of non-Hodgkin lymphomas in a resource-poor setting, the use of elevated lactate dehydrogenase as a correlate of disease progression in children with lymphoma, and the diagnosis of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in a patient with central nervous system lymphoma during R-CHOP chemotherapy. Related work examines plasma-cell and lymphoproliferative disorders that fall within the broader spectrum of B-cell and lymphoid disease. This page gathers peer-reviewed, open-access research relevant to B-cell lymphoma, supporting study of its subtypes, diagnosis, prognostic markers, and treatment.
