Biography:
Dr. Alaa Ali Mohamed Elzohry is an Associate Professor of Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management at the South Egypt Cancer Institute, Assiut University, with clinical service also at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh. He obtained his MBBCH in 2005, MSc in 2010, and MD in 2016, specializing in anesthesia, surgical intensive care, and pain management. Dr. Elzohry’s expertise covers a wide range of anesthesia fields including general, regional, thoracic, pediatric, obstetric, neurosurgical, and oncologic anesthesia, as well as critical care and mechanical ventilation in intensive care units.
He has conducted and published multiple randomized controlled trials, particularly on thoracic spinal/epidural anesthesia, intrathecal drug administration, and postoperative pain management in cancer and pediatric surgeries. His work focuses on improving perioperative outcomes, hemodynamic stability, and patient recovery. Dr. Elzohry also mentors postgraduate students, contributes to academic conferences, and serves on editorial boards of several anesthesiology and pain journals. His continuing research emphasizes evidence-based approaches for safer anesthesia and effective pain control strategies, positioning him as a recognized contributor to anesthesia and perioperative medicine in Egypt and internationally.
