Overview
Industrial hygiene toxicology is the study of the effects of toxic substances and environmental contaminants on the health and safety of workers in industrial settings. It focuses on understanding how exposure to different chemicals, pollutants, and other environmental contaminants affects workers' health. This field of science is important for helping workers stay safe from the potentially harmful effects of their work environment. Industrial hygiene toxicologists use analytical methods to study the presence of contaminants and other chemicals in the workplace, evaluate the risks of exposure to these substances, recommend ways to reduce the risk of exposure, and develop preventive measures to protect workers. Additionally, they provide advice and guidance to employers on how to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
