Overview
Translational stem cell research involves the translation of the basic science of stem cells into the development of new therapies and technologies for the treatment of diseases and injuries. This involves the investigation of the biological processes of stem cells and their interactions with the environment, and the evaluation of the potential therapeutic applications of stem cells. The therapeutic applications of stem cells include regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and cell-based gene therapy. Translational stem cell research has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of debilitating and life-threatening diseases, such as cancer and degenerative neurological conditions. It provides an opportunity to restore functional capabilities, reduce suffering, and improve the quality of life for millions of people worldwide.
