Overview
Thyroid hormone resistance is an endocrine disorder in which the body fails to respond normally to thyroid hormones. This results in an excess of thyroxine, a hormone produced by the thyroid gland, leading to an array of symptoms such as weight gain, fatigue, and muscle pain. Treatment options include medications and thyroid hormone replacement therapy. It is important to accurately diagnose and treat thyroid hormone resistance as it is linked to an increased risk of various health issues, including heart disease, stroke, and infertility. Proper diagnosis and management will help to improve the quality of life of those affected.
