Overview
Viral infections cause a wide range of diseases and can be extremely serious if not controlled. Prevention of viral infections is important for protecting individuals and communities from outbreak of diseases. Prevention strategies include vaccination, good hygiene practices, regular health check-ups, and taking antiviral medications. Vaccination is the most effective and safe way to prevent viral infections and is recommended by public health authorities. Good hygiene practices such as frequent hand-washing, using masks in public settings, and avoiding close contact with infected persons can help minimize risk of transmission of viruses. Taking antiviral medicines helps reduce severity of symptoms and reduce risk of complications. Prevention of viral infections is critical to protect the health of individuals and community.
