Overview

Molecular biology is the branch of biology that studies the structure, function, and interactions of the molecules that govern living systems, particularly nucleic acids and proteins. It examines how genetic information stored in DNA is transcribed into RNA and translated into proteins, how these molecules are regulated, and how their interactions drive the processes of life at the cellular level. Advances in laboratory and analytical techniques have allowed researchers to probe these mechanisms in ever greater detail, making molecular biology foundational to genetics, biotechnology, and modern medicine.
