Overview
A Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) is a non-invasive screening test used to detect hidden blood in the stool. It can help to identify issues such as anemia, ulcerative colitis, or even colorectal cancer. The test requires a small sample of stool which is then tested for the presence of trace amounts of blood which may not be visible to the naked eye. The test is simple, fast, and can provide an early indication of health problems. Early detection of these problems through FOBT is important in helping to provide patients with effective treatments, minimizing the potential for further complications.
