Overview

Case reports are crucial elements of scientific literature that detail the observation, diagnosis, management, and outcomes of individual patients. It is a narrative description of a patient's medical history and treatment, providing comprehensive evidence into understanding the course of the condition from onset to resolution. Healthcare professionals rely on case reports to inform clinical decision-making and address unusual or unusual cases for which more definitive treatment options are limited. Clinical case reports involve the use of images, photographs, charts, and tables to enhance the understanding of the case presented. They provide an in-depth analysis of the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a patient's condition, including the patient's medical history, physical examination, laboratory findings, diagnostic test results, and medication use. The use of images and photographs is particularly useful in illustrating objective findings, providing support for subjective impressions, and reinforcing clinical decisions. Furthermore, clinical case reports help advance medical knowledge, improve patient management and care, and contribute to the establishment of guidelines for clinical decision-making. They assist in identifying new or rare diseases, novel treatments, complications resulting from diagnostic or treatment procedures, and competency issues among healthcare practitioners, among other things. In conclusion, clinical case reports are an essential tool in healthcare that provides useful clinical information, improves knowledge of rare diseases and complex medical conditions, and promotes evidence-based medical care. It is, therefore, essential that healthcare professionals document and report their clinical cases to advance medical knowledge and help improve patient care worldwide.
