Cancer is a broad group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation, evasion of normal growth and death signals, invasion of surrounding tissue, and potential metastasis to distant organs. Tumors develop through accumulated genetic and epigenetic changes and are classified by tissue of origin, histological type, and molecular features that increasingly direct diagnosis and treatment.
