Mental health and psychiatry help people with mental illness, such as depression and anxiety, to achieve an improved quality of life. Mental health and psychiatry also address substance use disorders, eating disorders, and developmental disorders. Through a variety of approaches, including psychotherapy, medications, and lifestyle modifications, mental health and psychiatry professionals strive to support individuals in increasing their emotional wellbeing, restoring and maintaining social functioning, and reaching their highest level of personal growth and development.
