Overview

Child behavior is the way in which children respond to their environment and how they act and interact with it. It includes both the physical and mental behavior of a child, and is shaped by a variety of factors including genetics, parenting, culture, and their life experiences. Child behavior can have major implications on a child’s education, health, and social development. Understanding the factors that influence a child’s behavior is essential for effective parenting and for helping a child reach their full potential. Knowledge of child behavior can also help adults recognize and intervene in situations that could have a negative impact on a child’s development.
