Biography

Anna Jezierski is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her research focuses on stem cell biology, neural differentiation, and blood-brain barrier modeling, with particular emphasis on human induced pluripotent stem cells and amniotic fluid-derived cells. She has investigated receptor-mediated transcytosis in novel blood-brain barrier models and explored the therapeutic potential of amniotic fluid cells for nervous system injury treatment. Her work encompasses epigenetic regulation of neural differentiation, gap junction formation in cortical cells, and the neuroprotective effects of GDNF-expressing cells, as well as molecular mechanisms involving Rap1, E-cadherin, RBPJ transcripts, and NOS3 in cellular self-renewal and differentiation pathways.
