Overview
Prediabetes is a condition that occurs when a person's blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not yet high enough to be classified as diabetes. This condition is significant as it is often a precursor to type 2 diabetes and can be a warning sign for people at risk for developing the disease. It is important to identify prediabetes and take steps to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes can be managed through lifestyle changes, such as increasing physical activity, eating a healthy diet, and losing weight. Early diagnosis and treatment of prediabetes can help reduce an individuals’ risk of developing type 2 diabetes and other associated health complications.
