Overview

Experimental plant science is the study of the genetics, physiology, and development of plants and their responses to the environment. Through research, plant scientists investigate the biological processes of plant growth and development and develop strategies to improve crop production, disease resistance, and environmental stress tolerance. Plant science also encompasses a wide range of topics, from pest control to plant biotechnology. By understanding the science behind plant growth and development, and the environmental impacts of agriculture, plant scientists can develop solutions to improve the conservation, management, and sustainability of forests, grasslands, and agricultural systems. Research in plant science is of primordial importance in today's world as it can help form sustainable strategies to address major global challenges, such as climate change, food security, and water security.
