Overview
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with functioning or development. Research published in ADHD And Care examines multiple dimensions of this condition across the lifespan, including developmental, behavioral, and intervention-focused perspectives. Published studies address resilience-building through protective factors in academic, interpersonal, and cognitive domains among children and youth with ADHD. The journal has explored gender disparities in diagnosis, particularly factors contributing to late diagnosis in females, as well as the relationship between abnormal sleeping patterns and ADHD symptomatology. Intervention research includes investigations of mindful routine effectiveness in children with ADHD and the role of assistive technologies in supporting students with the condition. Additional work examines behavioral correlates, such as the influence of ADHD and impulsivity on financial risk-taking and investment decisions. The journal also publishes neuroimaging and psychological assessment studies in youth with behavioral deviations, contributing to understanding of underlying mechanisms. This body of research matters because ADHD affects academic achievement, social relationships, and long-term outcomes, making evidence-based approaches to identification, support, and intervention essential for individuals, families, and educational systems.
